Most of them worse than baseless.
~Carrie Prejean, “assaulted” for anti-gay views
~Sean Penn, “ugly” for admonishing anti-gays
~Google maps, “insidious”
And now for the more memorable moments of the article...
“But we must ask ourselves - as the church, what should our response be? The answer for me comes in looking back at how the early church responded to similar opposition.”
“Today rather than facing the lions, the church now faces the merciless jaws of litigation.”
“The attitude against the church is the same but the venue for persecution has been modernized.”
"The interesting thing about fear is that it desensitizes us to the needs of others by causing us to be preoccupied with our own concerns."
Funny, I was just using that last part to describe people like you. I wonder who read who’s mind...
Of course, he’s not talking about himself, he’s talking about the churches who are fearful of being vocally anti-gay.
Shrilling right along..
"Will the only message they hear be one that directly opposes God's divine plan and creation?"
Mr. Buchanan, how do you get from 3% of the population to 100% of the "message"? Please show your work.
Proclivity: a natural or habitual tendency or inclination, esp. toward something discreditable
And now to use it in a sentence...
The homosexual had a proclivity for anonymous sex.
And now to use it in another sentence...
In the effort to dehumanize gays and lesbians, the man used the word "proclivities" to describe their relationships.
It appears that God's divine plan included procreating with members of one's immediate family.
More on God’s divine plan:
Genesis 2:19-20:So, God’s “divine plan” included incest and almost bestiality.
19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
IOW, it's a cause worth dying for, but all you have to do is speak up about it.
Jeff Buchanan is a pastor and the Director of the Exodus Church Association(www.exoduschurchassociation.org), a national network of more than 120 churches helping those dealing with same-sex attraction to live a life that reflects the Christian faith.

We could always go back to lions if he'd prefer. It would serve so many purposes; cut down on food expenses for zoos, reduce discrimination against LGBT people, decrease the surplus population and provide hours of entertainment.
Yes, I'm kidding. But in all seriousness he has nothing to whine about, the bigoted little theocrat.
If their dominionist designs were ever realized, I have no doubt they would implement the death penalty (and in cruel and unusual ways) for anyone suspected of being gay or transgendered. I can also see them making it mandatory viewing for preventative measures -- lest “teh gay” rear its ugly head and infect others.
They don’t just hate us, they love to hate us.
Oh, the poor little *thing*. I know I cried a number of tears in my beer over the sad fate of Carrie Prejean, who's being punished with instant celebrity and credibility, even an appearance as a guest anchor on Fox News' morning show. (Quick, which state did the Miss USA *winner* come from? Thought so!) I don't even know how to address most of Buchanan's comments. It's a level of crazy I'm not prepared to take on. All I know is this elicits in me a "proclivity" to show him the true meaning of the phrase "drop the gloves."
I'd blow it off, except this person is in a position to "help" churches and the people in them. The poor LGBT teens, the poor parents, the poor neighbors, the poor spouses...
(Came via Ex-Gay Watch, incidentally. You may know me by a name that marks me as a redneck woman who married a Russian.)
"The homosexual had a proclivity for anonymous sex."
That sounds like projection. Remember, there is no such thing as an "ex gay."
